Turkish police arrest 17 suspects linked with IS

Turkish police have detained 17 suspects linked to the Islamic State during an operation in four districts of Istanbul. This was announced on Friday by the NTV channel.

Before the operation, the anti-terrorist police identified a number of individuals suspected of having links to ISIS and conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

The IS group has claimed responsibility for several terrorist attacks in Turkey, and local counter-terrorism agencies often carry out operations against it in response.
