Criminal case on the terrorist attack initiated after Chisinau airport shooting

A criminal case on the terrorist attack was initiated after the shooting at the airport in Chisinau. Press service of the prosecutor's office of Moldova said this in a statement.

On June 30, a foreigner opened fire at the airport in Chisinau, took several people hostage and barricaded himself in one of the premises.

The foreigner was arrested. He was injured. Two people died.

The Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Recean said that the shooter was citizen of Tajikistan banned from entering the country for security reasons. He indicated that the attacker was using a handgun stolen from a border police officer.
