Afghan authorities announce elimination of terrorist groups in the country
The ISIS in Afghanistan does not pose a threat to security, as its activities have been almost completely stopped, spokesman for the Taliban interim government Zabibullah Mujahid said on June 29, Ariana News reported.
“There are no threats to security and stability in Afghanistan, there are no non-Afghan groups here. ISIS, as a remnant of the American occupation, is now almost eliminated and completely stopped its activities; the members of the movement are on the run and in hiding. They cannot pose any threat to the Afghans, and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is in full control of the situation,” Mujahid said.
He stressed that the level of security in Afghanistan has become the highest in the 40 years.
Recall that on June 21, UN Deputy Secretary General Vladimir Voronkov said that Afghanistan is turning into the epicenter of the spread of terrorism in his remarks at a conference dedicated to the implementation of Shanghai Convention on Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism. He pointed out that this was evidenced by the facts set out in the 14th report of the Taliban Sanctions Monitoring Group.
